Hi! So, I’m Ripley, and I’m going to figure this out. Promise. It’s going great so far!

I wrote a book. It’s the first in a series that I’m calling the Las Playas Series. It’s about two women who find missing people for a sort of living in a foggy Northern California beach town that I made up “Las Playas.” Their clients lie, their jobs go sideways and spin off into chaotic side-quests, and they get paid in tamales sometimes. I’m very excited about it!

Right now I’m in the middle of looking for a publishing home for book one (book two is actively in the works), and because of that, I’m also building a website. This website. And trying not to panic as I make an Instagram and use my Bluesky account more often.

So what will you find here? Updates on the books as things happen, behind-the-scenes bits about Las Playas and the people in it, bobs about my research, and the occasional writing ramble.

If you want to follow along on the journey you can come say hi: Ripleythewriter or SamRipley
